01 Overview

A record of the day.
Accountability over time.

Carceris was built around the daily activity log: a structured record of facility operations, with role-based access and a traceable history of changes.

The software brings daily logs, archive search, completed-log exports, corrections, and void history into one system designed for controlled internal environments.

02 Preserved codebase

What v0.6.14 contains.

Documented functionality in the preserved release candidate. These features are not a statement of current maintenance or production readiness.

Daily operations

Active daily logging, configurable operational day start times, late and backfilled entries, categories, priorities, and a daily log operations dashboard.

Search & exports

Archive search, print views, and PDF, text, and HTML downloads of completed logs. Optional log delivery with delivery history and failed-send review.

Record accountability

Correction and void workflows with retained history, audit logging, and distinct Admin, Supervisor, Officer, and Viewer roles.

System administration

Backup and restore, ZIP upgrades, and production-readiness and system-status checks, with supporting technical documentation.

03 Intended environment

Designed for
controlled access.

Carceris was designed for self-hosted PHP and MariaDB deployments on internal facility servers, reached through LAN or VPN access, within firewalled environments and from facility-controlled workstations.

A defined deployment boundary

Carceris has not been positioned as a hardened public-internet application. Public exposure is not recommended without additional hardening, access controls, and independent security review.

This website documents the project. It is not a running Carceris application.

04 Project status

Paused today.
Preserved for
the possibility.

The code, documentation, and project history remain available so this work can be revisited.

Development may resume in the future, but there is no commitment or timeline. Carceris is not currently receiving active maintenance, technical support, or security development.

The preserved software state is v0.6.14, an open-source release candidate. New production deployments are not currently recommended.
